Thanks to the help of Jack Petty of Coal City, Illinois

I've retained a few first year Martins !

Seen as many as 4 Martins flying around special gourd racks that was made in late Spring time.

Under construction will be a bigger/better gourd rack to accommodate my new arrivals.

Seeking some used plastic gourds:  20 gourds needed total.

Only Super Gourds and/or Naturelines 10" or bigger.

Got any ?  Please contact me at: Jeffsmail70@gmail.com

Welcome to the Purple Martin Page

What's the benefit of a Purple Martin ?

Many:

Eats many bad insects

Lovely dawn song and voice

Very family oriented swallow

Loves people and prefers Landlords

Allows you to take care & clean their homes !

Threatened Species ?

Travels over 10,000 miles one way to migrate to Brazil !

Much, Much more....

The first visitor of the year:  1st year sub-adult Male

A few weeks later,  4 visitors came:

1 adult Male, 1 adult Female, two sub adult Males

Looks promising for next year !
